Youth Employment, Education and Skills Services

Youth Employment, Education and Skills Services at The Junction Foundation offer young people a dedicated 1-1 Support Worker to work with them to help them to progress into Education, Employment, Training or Self-Employment.

At The Junction the Youth Employment Service works with young people aged between 16 and 25 years old who are unemployed or inactive, some of whom are often the furthest away from education and employment opportunities.  We understand that everyone is different so we aim to support young people in a way that works best for them in order for them to progress into Education, Employment, Training or Self-Employment.

We Listen

We work alongside young people to help them to shape their own support, completing an assessment that identifies personal and career related areas for development or any other additional support needs that may be a barrier to employment.

We genuinely care

Our expertise is second to none, showing empathy towards each individual’s situation.  Staff work with the young person to develop a professional trusting relationship which helps to develop confidence when accessing the service.  Progress is regularly reviewed to ensure that young people are meeting the goals that they have set.

We can help with:

  • CV’s, interview skills and job applications;
  • Education and training options;
  • Opportunities to take part in activities to build confidence and motivation;
  • Housing and benefits advice and guidance or brokering support from other services;
  • Emotional wellbeing support, mentoring and access to counselling;
  • Funding may be available for training courses, interview clothes and travel expenses.
  • NOCN Level 2 Award – Skills for Employment, Training and Personal Development.

“‘The Junction has helped me by improving my confidence and looking at options for employment and training.”
