FREE HAF EASTER ACTIVITY PROGRAMME AVAILABLE FOR YOUNG PEOPLE ACROSS SOUTH TEES

WHAT IS XPLORE EASTER CLUB ‘22?

Xplore Easter Club ‘22 is a free holiday clubs programme running across South Tees for children and young people who are eligible for benefits related free school meals. It is part of the Government’s Holiday Activities and Food programme (HAF) and is funded by The Department for Education. The Government’s investment in the HAF programme builds on the foundations laid
by Middlesbrough Council, Redcar & Cleveland Council, sporting organisations, charities and the voluntary sector during the Easter holidays back in 2020. The initiative runs alongside the £200 million funding announced to provide summer schools to help pupils who have experienced the most disruption due to the pandemic.

WHAT DOES IT OFFER?
It gives parents and carers living in Middlesbrough and Redcar & Cleveland the opportunity to access the equivalent of two weeks’ worth of activities, throughout the Easter holidays, at no cost.

WHO’S ELIGIBLE?
This holiday provision is for children and young people eligible for and in receipt of benefits related free school meals in Middlesbrough or
Redcar & Cleveland. This does not mean they are all required to attend as the provision is voluntary.

HOW TO BOOK
Locally based charity, The Junction, which exists to make a difference to the lives of children, young people and their families, has been selected as the local delivery partner responsible for managing the activity programme
across South Tees. Parents and carers who think their children and young people are eligible and might benefit from free holiday clubs should visit thejunctionfoundation.co.uk/xplore for guidance on how to apply and find out what’s available.

They can also call The Junction direct on 01642 756000.
