Joe working with The Junction project worker agreed to visit his GP again to explain in more detail about how he was feeling and the worries he had especially relating to his thoughts about harming himself.
Following the second visit to the GP Joe was referred to Adult Mental Health Services for an assessment. As Joe was scared/worried about attending this appointment The Junction offered him support to go.
After the assessment it was felt that support from Adult Mental Health Services was not necessary although Joe would probably benefit from ongoing support from The Junction to help him with his feelings and make sense of some of his childhood experiences.
Joe considered accessing The Junction counselling service but due to the reassurance he has received from Adult Mental Health, he felt confident to continue to access the support provide by the Junction project worker.
Joe is still working, is a young parent in a steady relationship who is not accessing Tier 3 services with an ongoing safety net and support of The Junction.
