Nomaan’s Story

Unsure to unstoppable

Meet Nomaan, age 20 who was referred to The Junction's Youth Employment Service as he was not having any success in finding employment

After discussing his hobbies and interests and ideal job with our Youth Employment worker, he said he was interested in vehicle maintenance and had wanted to join the Army when he was younger but did not know how to go about it.

We identified an Army Mechanic role that would be ideal for Nomaan, and supported him through the Army recruitment process, encouraged him to improve his fitness, and prepare for army assessment tests.

Nomaan was selected to attend an Army Recruitment assessment and has now passed all the required tests, he is just waiting to hear about the next stage. In the meantime, to keep busy and gain some knowledge and experience, we have supported him towards a part time job at a local garage while he waits to hear back from the army.

Nomaan said “I never thought I would have a chance of joining the Army but The Junction Foundation have helped me so much and have supported me all the way with my army application, they have also helped towards getting a job at the garage”
