Alice’s Story

The Junction started supported  Alice after she was referred through from the local careers service.
She needed a high level of support as she has a condition which affects how she processes information and learns.

Her Project Worker assisted her to write a CV and helped her look at options for careers – with one to one support and  assistance she applied and was successful in gaining an apprenticeship in social care within a nursing home.  Only the beginning of another chapter in Alice’s life.

Alice needed ongoing support to help her meet the requirements of the apprenticeship, and worked very hard with The Junction to learn how best to communicate with others and to understand her workplace.   At times it was felt that she may have to give up her apprenticeship due to the barriers she was facing, however her own dedication and wish to succeed has meant that she has just successfully gained another year on her placement, and is doing really well!
