The Junction are a respected charity striving to make a difference to the lives of local children, young people and their families across the Tees Valley. Originally founded in 1991 we have a long history of supporting some of the most vulnerable people in our community and we are looking for passionate and committed people to join our team to support the life changing work we do.

We are one of the largest local charities supporting children and young people with an annual income of over £1million and a workforce of over 50 passionate professionals, from a range of backgrounds, working across our 4 sites.

Each year we support over 2000 children, young people and their families through an array of services, including: Young Carers’ Services, Mental Health and Emotional Wellbeing Services, Youth Employment Services, Youth Work – Social Action and Participation Services and we provide a specialist transport service exclusively for children and young people.

Due to ongoing support from South Tees Clinical Commissioning Group, The National Lottery Community Fund, Middlesbrough Borough Council, Redcar & Cleveland Borough Council, Hartlepool Borough Council and a number of schools in the area we have new and exciting roles within our Children and Young People’s Mental Health and Emotional Wellbeing Service:

Service Manager  – Children and Young People’s Mental Health and Emotional Wellbeing Services  based in Redcar and working across Teesside – £34,782 per annum, 37.5 hours per week.

Psychologist (Hartlepool Cared for Children and Young People) based in Hartlepool with regular travel to Redcar – £37,570 pro rata, hours negotiable – minimum 15 hours per week.

Emotional Wellbeing Coordinator (Hartlepool Cared for Children and Young People) based in Hartlepool with regular travel to Redcar – £26,472 per annum, 37.5 hours per week.

Children and Young People’s Cognitive Behavioural Therapist based in Redcar and working across Teesside – £30,401 pro rata, 18.5 hours per week.

Emotional Wellbeing Coordinator (Early Intervention and Prevention) based in Redcar and working across South Tees– £26,472 per annum, 37.5 hours per week.

Emotional Wellbeing Practitioner (Early Intervention and Prevention) based in Redcar and working across South Tees– £21,089 Pro rata, 22.5 hours per week

Trainee Systemic Family Practitioner based in Redcar, studying in Newcastle and/or York 1 day per week and providing interventions across Teesside – £21,089 per annum, 37.5 hours per week.

 


Due to the ongoing success of our Youth Work Service and Children and Young People’s Transport Service and our new provision of Short Breaks for Disabled Children and Young People we have a number of flexible roles for Youth Support Workers/Passenger Transport Assistants – £8.21 per hour across Redcar & Cleveland and Middlesbrough. These posts come with a thorough training package to enable people to fulfil current and future roles and we’re initially looking for people who can work flexible hours to support the delivery of group sessions across the organisation. Successful completion of the training programme will enable people to take advantage of future opportunities with The Junction, including providing passenger assistance with the transport service, supporting the delivery of young carers group sessions, supporting short breaks for disabled children and young people as well as supporting the delivery of our Youth Work Service.

All hours are flexible and initially will be up to 5 hours per week with the potential to significantly increase once training is complete, if desirable.


Our Youth Employment Service has recently seen an internal promotion so we’re recruiting for a Project Support Worker (YEI) – £21,447 pro rata, subject to 3% salary uplift from April 2020, 16 hours per week. This is a great opportunity to support a project helping young people in to work, education and training in Redcar & Cleveland.


We’re recruiting for a Charity Business Manager – £27,319, subject to 3% salary uplift from April 2020 – 37 hours per week. Based in Redcar and supporting the organisation across our delivery area this important role enables the charity to provide all of our services to children, young people and families and supports the Senior Leadership team with their duties. You will lead on finance, admin, HR, health & safety and information security but if you don’t feel your experience or training covers all these areas please feel free to give Jamie Noble, Deputy Chief Executive, a call or email as we would hate to lose a great candidate who has some of the right skills and experience as training and support will be provided by the Senior Leadership Team to aid professional development.

We’re recruiting a Finance Officer to support the Charity Business Manager to effectively manage the day to day finance functions for the Charity. This role will be based at our head office in Redcar.
