A 13-year-old boy, who is a young carer, wants to thank The Junction Foundation #CiN

We’re really proud to have been featured in this short film made by the BBC. It gives a glimpse into the work the Junctions young carers project does on a daily basis; made possible by BBC Children in Need.

It features one of our truly inspirational young people who shares his story about what it’s like to be a young carer and the difference the Junctions team makes to his life. Ashley is just one young person of hundreds that access the Junctions young carers service each year.

“I find it really helpful time away and time to myself”, Ashley, 13 years old

A young carer is a child or young person under the age of 18 carrying out significant caring tasks and assuming a level of responsibility for another person which would normally be taken by an adult.

The amazing work our teams do across the board is largely made possible by the kindness of the British people donating to fundraising events like Children in Need. We would just like to say thank you to anyone that donates money to such an amazing cause. While it may not seem like it on the TV sometimes, these big charity drives do help grass roots organisations like the Junction up and down the country. Lawrence McAnelly, Chief Executive
